Mi'kmaw Crisis Line Needs Your Input!!

Eskasoni Mi’kmaq Crisis & Referral Centre and the Eskasoni Health Centre are working with funders to evaluate the Mi’kmaw Crisis Line, and decide what it will look like in the future.  We need your input!!!

We want to know if the Crisis Line is providing the right kind of supports, and what will make it better for people who need it.  There are two ways you can share your ideas:

  1. Participate in our web survey. Go to horizons website http://horizonscda.ca/surveys/index.php?sid=32329&lang=en . You can use your own computer or one of the computers at Eskasoni Mental Health Services-Youth Resource Centre  at 30 Medicine Trail.

  1. You can participate in a telephone discussion on August 30 from 7:00 – 8:00 pm.  Just dial 1-866-233-6919, and put in the password 7582122832#. The facilitator’s name is Cari Patterson, and she is helping with the evaluation.  Crisis Line staff will not be on the call.

The main questions are about whether the Crisis Line helped you, and how, and what would make the Crisis Line better.

Your input will be 100% anonymous.  You just have to provide a first name and say whether you’re from Eskasoni or another First Nation in Nova Scotia.  This is so the facilitators can keep track of who said what, and how the Crisis Line is helping each community.

Everyone’s ideas will be combined into suggestions about the future work of the Crisis Line.

If you have any questions about this, please contact Dion Denny or Daphne Hutt MacLeod at 379-2910, or Cari Patterson at 582-7940 (call collect) or cari@horizonscda.ca.
